Meet Our Physicians

Joshua M. Hixson, MD

Dr. Hixson joined StoneCrest Family Physicians in the winter of 2006. Prior to joining StoneCrest Family Physicians, Dr. Hixson practiced Family Medicine for three years at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia and is Board Certified in Family Practice. Dr. Hixson completed his residency and internship at Anderson Area Medical Center in Anderson, South Carolina. During the last year of his residency, he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Hixson enjoys church activities, running, golf, snow skiing, hiking, and family activities. He resides in Nolensville with his wife, Annette, and their two children.

Bryan J. Kozinski, MD

Dr. Kozinski has been practicing Family Medicine in Smyrna since the fall of 2002. He received his medical degree from Northeast Ohio University College of Medicine and completed his residency and internship at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville Family Practice Program. He is Board Certified in Family Practice. Dr. Kozinski served as President of the Christian Medical and Dental Association and was involved with the Families in Community Pilot Program and Childhood Cancer Program. Dr. Kozinski attends LifePoint Church and enjoys football and playing golf. He currently resides in Smyrna with his wife, Amy, and their two children.

Christopher O. Thompson, MD

Dr. Thompson has been practicing Family Medicine in Smyrna since 1998. He received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine and completed his post-graduate training in Family Practice at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville. Dr. Thompson is Board Certified in Family Medicine and graduated with honors from David Lipscomb University in Nashville. Dr. Thompson serves as a member of the Board of Directors for StoneCrest Medical Center and resides in Rutherford County with his wife, Karen, and their four children.

Kirsten Bekker, MD

Dr. Bekker joined the TriStar medical Group in November of 2010. She graduated summa cum laude from Western Michigan University majoring in Occupational Therapy. During her undergraduate tenure she was a four year letter-winner on the varsity volleyball team, serving as captain her senior year. She practiced as an occupational therapist for several years before returning to medical school. She received her medical degree from the University of Michigan and completed a residency in Family Medicine at the University of North Carolina affiliated Mountain Area Health Education Center in Asheville, NC. She went on to complete a fellowship in geriatric medicine at the University of Michigan. She is board certified in Family Medicine and Geriatric Medicine.

Rozmond Lewis, MD

Dr. Lewis joined TriStar Medical Group in November 2010. Prior to joining our practice, she practiced at the Sixteenth Street Community Health Center in Milwaukee, WI where she fulfilled a scholarship with the National Health Service Corps. Dr. Lewis is a native Tennessean, having earned her medical degree at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN and her undergraduate at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She completed her residency at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine and the Department of Family Medicine in Chattanooga. Dr. Lewis is a member of the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Family Physicians. She has volunteered with Keystone Women and Children’s Clinic, AMSA Substance Abuse Prevention Program, and the Bayan Medical Clinic in Palacios, Honduras. Dr. Lewis is fluent in Spanish. She is the proud mother of two and lives with her husband, John. Dr. Lewis is affiliated with StoneCrest Medical Center.
